About Spirit Hill Farm

If you’ve gotten this far, you’ve seen the property and explored the surroundings. Maybe you’re wondering who’s behind Spirit Hill and how the farm came to be. Well, here’s the long and short of it, along with a snapshot of the kinds of folks you’re likely to encounter here in West County.

The Locale

So what’s it like in West Sonoma County? And while we’re on the subject, where the heck is West Sonoma County? To answer your question, West County is eclectic, authentic and so scenic you’ll want to move here. And by “here” we mean everything west of Highway 101, from Petaluma to Healdsburg. That’s West County, the place we call home.

The Proprietress

Meet Carolyn Yates, the woman behind Spirit Hill Farm. She’s part Leslie Knope, part Mary Richards, part Lisa Douglass. And if you know who all those people are, you watch way too much TV. By day, Carolyn is a high tech executive. In her free time, such as it is, she restores turn-of-the-century farmhouses, raises chickens and entertains her family and friends.

Creating Spirit Hill

Every house has a story. Really old ones like Spirit Hill have sagas. While we could bore you with details, like the lengths we went to to get the millwork just right, we’ll keep it short and tell you about the ingenious designer who shepherded the restoration of our beloved home.
